Regression of bug 1023730.
STR:
1. Go to contacts -> new contact
2. Focus on "phone number"
3. Press and hold "8"
Expected:
1. Send out "-"
Actual:
1. Type error and nothing happens.
I have patch ready.

I found I could not reproduce this issue that your reported with the current master.
Do I need any special steps to see this issue?

Wait, you were right, I was confused with my own local patch in bug 1029356.
