User Story

To make it easier to identify if I'm logged in or who I'm logged in as, I should be able to see the avatar from my profile.

This won't make it to FF34 although is there a chance we can have a static avatar picture for "non signed-in" and "signed-in" states so the UX is better balanced (avatar picture to be placed at the bottom left corner of the panel in both signed-in and non signed-in states). There are no strings related to adding this avatar picture. Please confirm if it is feasible and I can open a new bug.

If there are no strings I think it's feasible but also may be confusing for users as I think if they see a generic avatar beside their name when logged in, they may expect to be able to change it.

Darrin, what is your recommendation here? Is-it better to show a static avatar for a better looking panel or not display an avatar at all to avoid user confusion?

I would recommend we display no avatar until it is customizable, to Matt's point above.
