It is not possible to add an icon to the very right position in Firefox on OS X Yosemite. Could it be that this place is reserved for the fullscreen button that does no longer exist? Fullscreen is now trigger by the green "maximise" button.

Sigh.
Component: General → Toolbars and Customization
Summary: [10.10] Top right space seems to be reserved (for obsolete fullscreen button?) → [10.10] Hide/remove fullscreen-button placeholder on OS X Yosemite

It's definitively better, but there is still wasted space, please see the screenshot.

It'll probably get fixed when the browser chrome CSS is updated to better fit in with Yosemite.
