Feature Request
The folder view should show if a mail folder has new
messages by a) highlighting the name in bold and b)
showing the number of new messages in parentheses next
to the name.
Reproducible: Always
Steps to Reproduce:
View mail (imap, but prolly pop too).
Actual Results: I don't know which folders have new messages.
Expected Results: Mail folders with new messages should be highlighted.

Isn't that the current behaviour now?
Reporter, are you using filters on the server? Mozilla currently only checks
IMAP inboxes for new messages. If your server-side filters have placed messages
in different folders then Mozilla won't find them until you switch to that
folder. That could explain why the folders aren't showing they have new messages
in them when they have.
P.S. 0.9.4 is quite an old build. Upgrade to 0.9.5 (you know you want to).
Yes, well I think that explains it. I have procmail route incoming email into
various folders. Same behavior with ith 0.9.5 here at home--shows new messages
in inbox and saved-messages, but not in any of my other folders until I switch
into them.

In that case this bug is a duplicate of the RFE asking for Mozilla to check all
IMAP folders for new messages. Anyone feel like finding it?
