We'd ideally like to update the artifact values where possible, from ambiguous values like 'unknown' for job status, to 'incomplete' or '-'. Or other proposed values by Ed in his comments above. Some values might be contextual and specific to the property, so it might not be a case of one word fits all.

For example the machine property, might be 'unallocated' or 'not allocated', or other words for other properties.

I think this has a few parts - (a) we shouldn't store dummy values in the actual DB (ie just leave them blank), (b) in the UI we should use nicer strings :-)
