2.quit
3.restart
4.they're back...
Actual Results: preferences are not preserved on restart

James, were you seeing this on Linux? The behavior in the bugs I mentioned has
been seen on Mac OSX only.

This is on a Linux build, yes. 2.4.12-ac3 if it's relevant with debian
testing/unstable. Locale is euc_jp.
Thanks.

I confirm on linux (build 200102006) but only for the toolbar icons.
I was able to disable the sidebar and I do not use the mail.
As far as I remember, the same build was working fine until I removed
my ~/.mozilla directory and let mozilla regenerate it from scratch.

Regarding toolbar prefs not being saved across or within browser sessions: can't
reproduce this on a current mozilla trunk linux build. Try using a new profile
and reopen the bug with additional conditions/steps if the problem persists.

mass verification of WorksForMe bugs: to find all bugspam pertaining to this,
set your search string to "IfItWorksForSlappyTheSquirrelThenItWFM".
if you think this particular bug is *still* an open issue, please make sure of
the following before reopening:
a. that it's still a problem with ***recent trunk builds*** on the all
appropriate platform[s]
b. provide clear steps to reproduce (unless a good test case is already in the
bug report), making sure it pertains to the original problem (avoid morphing as
much as possible :)
