Seems like there is an optimization where, if you query and then make the same query, the results page will not refresh. With this, I ran into an issue where, when I was offline, my query resulted in the offline error page and trying to requery never tried refreshing (and thus accessing the internet), leaving me on the error page. This can be worked around by changing the query (and then repeating your previous query), but this is not a great user experience.
I wonder if bug 1038797 will make it easier to identify when we're in an error state. But in the meantime, maybe we should remove this optimization to avoid the refresh.
