Linux (1999-07-26-17 M9) 1. From Messenger, click New Msg to open a new Compose window 2. In Compose body, enter a few words, no problem. 3. Press Enter, no response Actual result: When press Enter, nothing happens. Cursor does not start a new line. Expected result: It should start a New line. Cursor should appear in the new line. This problem does not occur when using the Editor. It only occurs in the Compose window This does not occur on Mac and Win_nt 4.0

Fenella: Is this html or plain text compose window? Does this occur with Tasks | Editor? We had a similar bug 8315 which was recently fixed for the plain text compose window.
Oops. Pls ignore my comment about trying with the editor. I saw that you've already tried it.
I tried it both on HTML and Plain text compose window. This problem occurs on both HTML and plain text window. Sorry I forgot to mention it.
I will keep an eye on this bug in the next builds. The problem is inconsistent. Sometimes it works fine, other time it does not.

Linux redHat 6.0 (1999-08-16-08 M9) I use the Plain text compose window and html compose window to repeat all the steps as described. Now the Enter key works fine. I am going to mark it fixed.
