If i click on the "Get Msg" and new messages are downloaded, part of the folder
and message list panes redraw over the toolbar. This behavior does not occur if
there are no new messages to download. There are also other things that trigger
this, but not as consistently, such as selecting a different mail account, which
dramatically results in at least half of the toolbar being drawn over with list
panes. However, the new message trigger is the only one i can reproduce
consistently.
Note that this is not the same as bug 106265.
I'm using Linux 2001-10-23-08-trunk, and i did not see this problem in the
previous day's build. I can post a screenshot, if some can remind me what Linux
tool i need to use to do that.
i see it too - and already took a screenshot - just in case.
Status: UNCONFIRMED → NEW
Ever confirmed: true
i've seen it 4 times in the past 8 hours on a CVS build.
There may be a connection to networking code stopping - at least twice browser
and mail were active at the same time. when mail stopped, browser suddenly
"lost" all chrome, no more refresh till i minimized/restored

This can be reproduced sometimes (still not consistently) alternately clicking
on messages from the message list and folders from the folder tree. This often
results in the dramatic, large redraw i mentioned above.
i don't think this is mailnews code causing it...
i see a similar mispainting when i wheelscroll *downwards* (only) at

CC bnesse. this smells like another possible pref horkage.. mousewheel has
prefs.. themes have prefs..
This seems to the same issue as in bug 106355. Removing bnesse from cc, sorry

it does look the same. Marking as dup of 106355 since that has more info in it
about the solution.
