The Solaris 2.8 build of Mozilla 0.9.5 seems not to include PSM, making it impossible to access https://... URLs. This is the only Solaris build linked from http://www.mozilla.org/releases/ The ftp site has a Solaris 2.7 build which appears to have PSM. The Solaris 2.8 build of 0.9.4 did include PSM.
The Solaris 2.7 build won't run for me, with some problem about libgtk-1.2.so.0: open failed: No such file or directory. The 2.8 build doesn't have the libgtk problem, but no PSM.
No one has contributed build a Solaris 2.8 with PSM enabled so there is no way we can such a build. Reassigning to the owner of the 2.7 build in case its possible to make that build work on 2.8. If not, please resolve the bug as WONTFIX. It sounds to me like you need to install libgtk 1.2. If you have a newer version installed maybe you can get away with symlinking to the newer library.

This is actually a duplicate of bug 105222. As for the libgtk problem, please see bug 50293.
I have downloaded and built the sources for Mozilla 0.9.5 so that PSM is included. I have been using this successfully for a few days. Is it worth me finding out how to contribute this build, or is 0.9.6 going to be released soon enough now? How do I convert a source build tree (with a working .../mozilla/dist/bin/mozilla symlink) to a contributable tar file (containing an actual file at .../mozilla/mozilla) ? Can this bug report also be used as a catalyst to modify the default build parameters to include PSM, as they are on nightly builds? Re libgtk: I have a libgtk-1.2.so.0.5.3 that works with the Solaris 2.8 builds.
(Sorry, I hadn't realised the problem had been assigned to me.) I'm happy to continue building Mozilla on Solaris 7 with PSM, and include libgtk, libgdk, libgmodule, libglib in the distribution ... if someone will tell me how to add these extra files to the tarball. Rob
Is this bug still relevant? 0.9.6 is long since out and 0.9.7 is about to be....
You're right - it's no longer relevent. There was a suitable 0.9.6 build. Thanks, Scott
