Flash is often used for APIs that are not available in HTML5, things like copy and paste, file uploads, cross domain XHR, etc. We need to be able to reliably identify if a SWF is meant to be used in "headless" mode and determine if we can run it correctly.
We can cross out "copy and paste" from this list since set buffer requires UI (in most of the cases it's just a transparent shape) to assert user action during security check in the set buffer functionality.
Many headless SWFs (often trackers) have SWF dimensions 0x0, 0x1, 1x0, or 1x1. Some of these SWFs are services that other SWFs on the same page communicate with using Flash's LocalConnection. Because these SWFs have no UI, I think Firefox's CTP may play them when any SWF on the page is clicked to play.
Headless Flash content does not need to block Shumway for ads.
