here are some alerts I see from Oct 1:
http://54.215.155.53:8080/alerts.html?rev=d954ed24e795&table=1
We have a 6% canvasmark regression (11.8 in pgo) and a 10% tresize regression both in pgo and non pgo. Here is a link to the alerts for pgo:
http://54.215.155.53:8080/alerts.html?rev=e7422ba80faa&table=1
I haven't verified that all builds and all tests were run prior to this change, so there could be other tests which are attributed to a different change.
Either way, here are some graphs:
canvasmark: http://graphs.mozilla.org/graph.html#tests=%5B%5B289,131,31%5D%5D&sel=1412170530854.5562,1412240248433.8071&displayrange=30&datatype=running
tresize: http://graphs.mozilla.org/graph.html#tests=%5B%5B254,132,31%5D%5D&sel=1412170530854.5562,1412240248433.8071&displayrange=30&datatype=running
doing some retriggers, we can see the problem:
https://tbpl.mozilla.org/?tree=Mozilla-Inbound&startdate=2014-10-01&enddate=2014-10-03&jobname=WINNT%206.2%20mozilla-inbound%20talos%20chromez
and it falls upon 4 patches:

Bas, can you take a look at this? Is this expected? The regressions are fairly large and next week this will be on Aurora.

It's not unexpected, I think for now I'll turn off D2D 1.1 on Aurora as I'd like it to have a little more testing. But this problem is also reasy to fix.

:bas, this is still showing a regression on Aurora, wanted to see if you still thought turning this off on Aurora would be a good plan?

clarification- do we still have this off on aurora? did it make it to beta at all?

Comment 6•10 years ago

it does look as though this is on beta, at least the tresize stuff.

Comment 7•10 years ago

hmm, quite possibly this is related to a winxp canvasmark regression- hard to tell.

Since D2D1.1 was disabled on 35, this *should* be no longer, untracking. (see bug 1095608)

In 36.. this -should- be fixed.

tresize on 36 is fixed:

canvasmark is still regressed:
http://graphs.mozilla.org/graph.html#tests=%5B%5B289,52,31%5D%5D&sel=1412693207154,1420469207154&displayrange=90&datatype=running
Summary: 12% win8 canvasmark/tresize regression on inbound (v.35) Oct 1 from push d954ed24e795 → 12% win8 canvasmark regression on inbound (v.35) Oct 1 from push d954ed24e795
