Need a procedure to handle requests like these. Data modification of all kind should undergo a procedure to make sure we're doing it for the right reasons, and that we record it properly. I can draft something.

You cant do that the user only the admins can do it

We're stealing this bug to track coming up with a policy for changes like this in the future.

I'm trying to delete my discourse account and was asked to make a request here. I will show the links and the content of the message:

Message:

"Hi everyone."

"I would like to know how can I deactivate my account here. How can I deactivate my account here: mozilla-discourse?"

Response 1:

"It’s seems this can’t be done by the users themselves. Maybe @moderators can?"

Response 2:

"Currently, you can’t deactivate an account on Discourse. However, if you’re thinking about deleting your account, this article 6 might be helpful for you."

Accessing the website I saw this:

"How do I delete my account data?"

"You can delete a Discourse account in two ways:"

"This will delete all required and optional account data. Note:"

"All Discourse contributions are retained, so they can continue to be used for by the broader community."

"Your publicly displayed email address/display name will be changed to “Removed Account”

So I tried to talk to them (Mozilla bug support), but they closed my request here: https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1897269 So please, delete my account.

Can someone help me?

I would like the right to be forgotten and have my account removed. There is no button to remove my account. Please, delete my acccount.

Hey everyone, The component value 'Community IT: Discourse' is not active. Sorry for posting something here, but every time I open a bug, they close without a response.
