We've just completed a big project to support the mac signing changes (bug 1046306 is the tracking bug, also bug 1047584). Those changes will first appear in Firefox 34.0b1. Firefox 33.0 uses the older packaging style, but the builds were submitted to Apple so they could verify and whitelist them in Gatekeeper. That may not yet be complete yet, here's the work around: https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/firefox-cant-be-installed-mac-how-fix-it
