With the changes in Bug 1093185 - Pass through additional subscription flags on incoming signups (edit)
it's important that while we trigger the double opt-in process for the "Firefox OS News" flags on the Marketplace signup form (Bug 1097152), we do not want to lose subscribers from the Firefox OS first-run experience.
Is there a way to have basket interpret incoming signups with the slug "firefox-os" (before it's grouped with the other OS newsletter flags) to by-pass the double-opt in trigger?

We could create another newsletter with a different slug but the same Vendor ID. This would allow for different DOI settings but the same flag end result. I believe this should work. We should try it on dev.

Resolving this as WONTFIX.
While double opt-in is not required globally, it is recommended in Canada due to the way CASL is written, and Germany does require it, but it is not required elsewhere.
It's important that we use double opt-in to not only be legally compliant for Germany and Canada - but to be awesome Mozilla people. (And it's a great way to maintain clean, engaged lists.)
