Description: When user is in landscape orientation then enters into task manager, and opens a non-landscape application, the transition is slow and unsightly. Repro Steps: 1) Update a Flame to 20141121040204 2) Open Contacts then open Gallery app. 3) Activate landscape orientation in Gallery app. 4) Activate card view and open a non-landscape application. Actual Results: Opening a portrait-only app while in landscape card view mode causes a poor window transition. Expected: Opening a portrait-only app while in landscape card view shows a smooth window transition. Environmental Variables: (Full Flash, nightly, 319 MB memory) Device: Flame 2.2 Build ID: 20141121040204 Gaia: 25388c6bce932657ebf93adedf31881bfaf88c15 Gecko: 3366c0fcf9c2 Gonk: 48835395daa6a49b281db62c50805bd6ca24077e Version: 36.0a1 (2.2) Firmware Version: v188-1 User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Mobile; rv:36.0) Gecko/36.0 Firefox/36.0 Repro frequency: 100% See attached: screenshot, video, logcat

Keywords: regression
This is a slow transition and is poor UX due to this happening every time a user enters a portrait locked app. This is a new feature for 2.2 so NI Window Management owner for 2.2 Blocking decision.

I've added this to meta bug 1111795 as one of a list of orientation-related task manager bugs we want to get into 2.2
Flags: needinfo?(sfoster)
We're locking task-manager/card view orientation in bug 1118390, which removes the possibility of landscape to portrait transition.
