Bug 937809 added Duckduckgo to the list of search engines in SeaMonkey. Duckduckgo also supports to "boost" results from a specific region/language. I think this should be done for localizations (there's an easy UI on the DDG page to turn this off), so that e.g. results from German-speaking regions are preferred when using a German SeaMonkey build. See https://duckduckgo.com/params for a description of that parameter ("kl") and the required language codes.

Isn't this up to the localizers? Perhaps an explanatory email to the L10n list is in order.

Probably up to the localizers, yeah :) I think it makes sense for many (all?) locales.
