Reproducible on: Firefox 34.0 (build 2/ 20141125180439).
Affected platform(s): Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8 32-bit, Ubuntu 12.04 LTS 32-bit and Mac OS X 10.9.5.

STR: 
1. Open Firefox
2. Enter any text or perform a search using the search bar
3. Enter Customize Mode
4. Exit Customize Mode
5. Observe the Search bar.

Expected Results:
I consider that the data entered in the search bar must be remember even after using Customize Mode.

Actual Results:
Data from the Search Field is lost if using Customize Mode.

I can also reproduce on Firefox 33.1.1, this is not a regression related to the new search UI in 34.

Closing since this is not reproducible anymore using latest Firefox 124.0 and 125.0a1 builds.

This does still reproduce using the steps in comment 0. Marking as a duplicate of bug 1389080 as the fundamental issue is the same.
