Reproducible on: 
Firefox 34.0 (Build ID: 20141125180439)
Affected platforms: Windows 7 64-bit, Windows 8 32-bit, Mac OS X 10.9.5 and Ubuntu 12.04 32-bit.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Launch Firefox.
2. Move the New Search bar into the Menu Panel.
3. Enter any text in the search bar.

Expected Results: The small panels (One-Click Searches and Smart Suggestions) are displayed.

Actual Results: The small panels are not displayed.

I think the benefits of fixing this are really low compared to the effort, so
I'm resolving as WONTFIX for now. If someone wants to work on this, feel free
to reopen.

No idea why you are WONTFIXing this, as the oneoff-search is working when the searchbar is in the hamburglar-menu.

What is not working is that the hamburglar-menu stays open after clicking on a oneoff-button or any of the suggestions below the searchbar. When hitting enter after typing in a query, the menu closes.

This seems like a variation on bug 1104738.
