Works for me 2001111603 on Win2K.
Make sure the columns in the bookmark manager aren't sorted (bug 64768).

I have unsorted bookmarks selected.. It wfm if I select a personal toolbar
folder.. the drag icon shows.. if I select folders below the personal toolbar
folder, icon does show dropable; and doesn't work. So its broke and I tried
again with 2001-11-17 build, no go. All I did was copy over my bookmarks.html
file from another profile.
Its a problem with trying to drag and drop to all non-personal toolbar folders.
Will attach 2 screenshots for you.

make that icon doesn't show dropable in non-personal toolbar folders. I should
change summary if necessary. And it doesn't work on W2K.

I forgot that I'm unable to take screenshots with Windows for capturing mouse
info., (doesn't capture mouse cursors) I'd have to try hypersnap.
-updated summary.

in 2001-11-19 w2k I was able to get the another folder to drop into place in an
open non-personal toolbar folder. Drop icon doesn't show when just trying to
drop it onto a selected closed folder.

reproduced in Mozilla0.9.6/Linux(2001112012) and nightly 2001112821/Linux
with two different profiles.
I can drop an item or a folder into "expanded" non-Personal Toolbar folders.

I'm using Mac OS X build 112020. I think I understand this bug correctly, and if
so I am seeing the behavior in my Manage Bookmarks window.
I can't drag a bookmark or a folder onto a folder -- it just jumps back to where
it came from. When a folder is expanded, I can place a bookmark or a folder at a
certain position within the folder contents. But even then, dropping either on
the folder itself doesn't work.
D&D doesn't work correctly in the sidebar either.

Nick,
At least you can reproduce this problem as it is a problem with manage
bookmarks.. My bookmark file has been growing since ns6.0 came out.. dont know
if that is causing problems here or not.
Paul any ideas?

with the new bookmarks outliner code, it can drag and drop but it is flaky in
the second iteration in build 12-6. draging to an insertion area with new
outliner will place folder in correct position (root of the tree I'm talking
about, didn't try every possible configuration yet - will in another day or two
with more code fixes from blake) it adds it to the bottom of the root folder
list, probably just a visual problem. will check back in another day or two for
more.

I'm seeing the same behavior in 0.9.6 in Win98SE. Withing bookmark folders, DND
works fine. In the root of the bookmark structure, DND does not function. I
can cut and paste to move bookmark positions, but DND shows a mark where the
drop would put the moved bookmark but has the universal symbol for NO as the
mouse icon.

thats the kind of stuff I'm seeing.. before the outliner checkin.

I'd say this works for me using 12-14 after the cleanup from the bookmark
outliner code but I'm still seeing them deleted upon trying to drag folders into
a closed folder (even after it expanded) see bug 114215.
