Steps to reproduce:
Hello,
Thunderbird's spell-check on send feature is an essential functionality. However, I would like to constrain it to just the part of the newly composed response to an email.
Currently, Thunderbird also checks the email to which I am responding to and which is included in my response email.
For clarification I am attaching you a screenshot. Please leave me a comment if something is still unclear.
Thus, my central question: Is it possible to limit the spell-check to only the email response and ignore everything else in the compose window?

Thanks Robert! Yes that's right, and already on record...
