RESOLVED DUPLICATE of bug 1024548

People

(Reporter: michiel, Unassigned)

Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0
Build ID: 20141127110442

Steps to reproduce:

In an attempt to run my own loop-server, I followed the install instructions https://github.com/mozilla-services/loop-server#how-to-run-it

Actual results:

I needed to sign up for tokbox.com, which is proprietary and closed-source technology http://stackoverflow.com/a/19388204/680454

Expected results:

I should have been given an option to configure loop-server to run with my own turn server, running on my own domain name (decentralize the web!), and with source code I can study (software freedom!), for example https://webrtchacks.com/rfc5766-turn-server/
Hi michiel. this is something we want to do. It's actually already tracked in the bug tracker. Currently, the server is tied to Tokbox's servers because the client is. See these two bugs for more information.

I'm closing this one as a duplicate, feel free to reopen in case that makes sense to you.
