Details

(Whiteboard: [DUPEME])

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.3; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0 Build ID: 20141126041045 Steps to reproduce: Created a filter which applys on Getting New Mail: Filter before Junk Classification Actual results: It works when Thunderbird is started. If I close Thunderbird and get an email in the mean time and read it on my mobile device for example. Then I startup Thunderbird, then the already retrieved mail isn't processed. Expected results: When Thunderbird starts it should automatically fire all the filters. This was common functionality since MS Outlook 2007, so I can't see why it isn't in Thunderbird.
Are you on an IMAP server?
Yes, It's an IMAP account.
Then I think I have seen this reported somewhere already.

This sounds like the issue that messages marked as read are not processed by IMAP filters. I believe setting filters to postProcessing works around this? That's bug 128581.
Actually a better bug is 308148
