Bug 1092953 added a window-modal dialog for this, which is not great. There were several mentions of "we should use inline confirmation", but i didn't see a follow-up bug for this.

Dogfooding Hello a fair bit recently, this is one of my major UI grievances:
* dialog is window modal
* dialog pops up in unexpected location

This is amplified when i want to close more then one room:
* hello popup closes due to confirm dialog, requiring re-opening it every time
* need to mouse move & context switch back and forth between confirm dialog in center and hello popup dialog at the right

do you have suggestions for how we should handle this inline?

Yes, that work was carried out in Bug 1092953.

My original solution for in-line confirmation: https://bug1092953.bugzilla.mozilla.org/attachment.cgi?id=8524820

However, :dmose suggested we investigate using an undo-delete feature instead. This is open to discussion.

I'd be a little concerned by the length of strings required for L10n in that situation - though if the panel is adaptive width (I can't remember), then we might get away with it.

I've just realised, this is already covered in bug 1138859. Marking as duplicate there.
