User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0 Build ID: 20141126041045 Steps to reproduce: This is a change in behavior from prior versions. When entering addresses in the recipients area, enter a shortcut and hit "tab" or "enter" quickly. I am a fast typist. In prior versions, the lookup continued and the shortcut expanded even while I started to type the next address. Starting in version 31, the lookup aborts, and the unexpanded shortcut is left as is. Actual results: In version 31, the shortcut remains unexpanded, as typed. In the attached image, I typed "johnp<enter>johnp<pause>". You can see that the first one remained unexpanded. The second one succeeded. Now, I see three possibilities. 1. This has always been the intent, but the address lookup now takes much longer. This seems unlikely. 2. The address book lookup has been changed from a synchronous to an asynchronous process, and this behavior is an accidental side effect. If so, it is a bug. 3. This change was intentional, as an attempt to prevent accidental misfires in the lookup. If so, although I disagree with it, I will get used to it and this bug should be closed as "will not fix". Expected results: In prior versions, the shortcut lookup process continued, and the name expanded.
