So, the attached patch add the display of the image. However, this won't work because the image is only stored on nucleus. We would need a download mechanism (nucleus => bedrock) to retrieve them.

We need to work out user-uploaded-media in bedrock for other reasons as well. Let's do this after RNA is fully migrated to bedrock and nucleus is decommissioned. After that it's a matter of figuring out how to handle the fact that we run bedrock on several servers and we need to allow all of them access to these images. Our current thought is a separate repository for these (likely Amazon S3) and a separate CDN in front of that (likely CloudFront).
So we'll be able to make this happen after we get all of that done. If you need images in notes before that we'll just have to add them in a commit to bedrock for now.

Do you have an eta for this?
FYI, I created bug 1117786 with a patch for nucleus.

I agree with :pmac that S3 is the most likely storage solution for the images, but I'm less clear on whether CloudFront or our existing CDN solution would be better for this. :jakem, do you have any thoughts on this?

Paul, do you have news on the CDN deployment? I would like to progress on this bug. Thanks

We have made progress toward this. Bedrock is now in a state that will allow us to do this, we just need to build the feature into RNA (or maybe that's done?), enable people to use the admin via www.mozilla.org, hook up S3 for user media, and get that separate CDN configured.
Much to do yet, but progress is being made. Perhaps we need a separate bug for user media in bedrock so we can prioritize.

Paul, I see progress on the s3 bug but it is still open. You confirm that I can still not make progress on it? right?

We've still not got s3 hooked into bedrock. We also need to move RNA to bedrock first as well I think. Right Josh? This bug should depend on that one as well?

If we continue to maintain two sets of release notes, then yes. If we consolidate the release notes onto MDN, then no. MDN already supports image uploads, and we could add images to that set of release notes with no blockers.

I'm going to close this one and we can file a new bug if we decide to pursue this work in the future.
