Steps to reproduce:

I have several mail accounts defined. One of them has Server setting "Check for new messages every X minutes" disabled. Other accounts have this enabled. 


Actual results:

Still this account is also checked every once a while and this causes constant error dialogs to pop up because currently this account's mail server cannot be reached.


Expected results:

Mail checking works according to server setting value.

You need to watch it at what event does the server get connected. Maybe you are clicking the "get all new messages" button, which fetches from all servers.
Ok, that may be the problem. I thought this problem account would be totally outside of mail fetching.
You probably want something like bug 689067 or bug 563334?
