This is the follow-up of bug 84947 ("We need a "better" print dialog...") - we need a better print job options dialog for Unix/Linux/BeOS which allows per-printer attribute lists - which should be queried from the printer in a dynamic way instead of using hardcoded lists with fixed&unchangeable values.
Depends on: 84947
Platform: Sun -> All (as bug 84947 was)
Hardware: Sun → All
Status: NEW → ASSIGNED
Target Milestone: --- → mozilla0.9.8
Target Milestone: mozilla0.9.8 → mozilla0.9.9
Blocks: 125824
I've added a "hack" into |nsPrinterEnumerator[GTK,Xlib]::InitPrintSettingsFromPrinter()| and the printjoboptions.js that the print job options dialog can now enumerate the paper sizes (I'll attach a screenshot for demonstration). The question is now how to turn the "hack" into a permanent solution which allows all platforms to use this feature...
Target Milestone: mozilla0.9.9 → mozilla1.0
Blocks: 157675
No longer blocks: 157675
Target Milestone: mozilla1.0 → ---
Is this still relevant? In my current build (2004100612) on Linux I can see everything that is there in the screenshot attachment and the comments.
As I commented more than a year ago, everything already seems to work.
