User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 Firefox/31.0 Build ID: 2014112600 Steps to reproduce: On thunderbird, new messages for an inbox are no longer shown, nor are any of the folders, and no error messages are displayed.
Hi reporter, unfortunately this report is not very useful because it does not describe the problem well. If you have time and can still reproduce the problem, please read https://developer.mozilla.org/en-US/docs/Mozilla/QA/Bug_writing_guidelines and add a more useful description to this report (which kind of account? IMAP, POP? what is shown instead? an empty message list?). Please also attach a screenshot here (that does not show any private/confidential data).

Imap, it shows a single folder "K" instead of the inbox folder. What do you want the screen shot of?

It's unclear to me what's above that "k" folder or on which level it is - please only make personal information black and provide a better screenshot that does not hide the folder structure. (Currently I can only guess that you just created an empty folder called "k" and that you are in that folder, hence no bug.)

I did only make personal information black, and I didn't hide any of the folder structure. When new messages are not shown only on thunderbird, then how is it not a bug?
Flags: needinfo?(illumilor.e)
I see, so you have a list of remote accounts where the black area is. Please see https://wiki.mozilla.org/MailNews:Logging how to provide more information.

Tried thunderbird -safe-mode ? (Help | Restart with add-ons disabled)
It happens with safe mode. After manually removing the passwords for the account, I get the message: "User is authenticated but not connected" error, but still no prompt for any password.

1. is this a gmail account? If not, please specify the provider and details of how the account is specififed. sounds like what the user in bug 1097932 is seeing

It's an outlook.com account. How do I find how the account is specified?

> Bug summary : error "User is authenticated but not connected" and no password prompt, so new messages are not shown. Google Search for "user is authenticated but not connected" https://www.google.com/?gws_rd=ssl#q=User+is+authenticated+but+not+connected A document hit by search. http://unix.stackexchange.com/questions/164823/user-is-authenticated-but-not-connected-after-changing-my-exchange-password > The message “User is authenticated but not connected” is due to a bug in the Exchange server's IMAP implementation. > If the client presents a valid user name but an invalid password, the server accepts the login, > but subsequent commands fail with the aforementioned error message. What can IMAP client like Thunderbird do automatically in such case? "Bug open at B.M.O" means "you've found Tb's bug". Why can this be Tb's bug? Or this is claim that Thunderbird developers and Thunderbird has to translate the message to meaningful text for you? Anyone can open any "BUG" at B.M.O, but please stop to use B.M.O for developers as user support forum.
