From Bugzilla Helper: User-Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; U; PPC; en-US; rv:0.9.6+) Gecko/20011126 Netscape6/6.1b1 BuildID: 2001112604 When going to any website that has ads that pop up, the window that displays the ad is a full size window. The window is not the same size as the ad, as it should be. The ad is displayed in top left corner of the window with the rest of it being empty white space. Reproducible: Always Steps to Reproduce: 1. Go to any website that produces a popup window (www.aol.com, www.coolsavings.com, and netscape.com) 2. Wait for the ad to pop up Actual Results: A large window pops up with the ad in the top left corner and the rest of the window is blank. Expected Results: A window to appear that is the same size as the ad. This also occurs in Mac OS 9.0.4 and OS X, but not in OS 9.1. Tested it on these three sites www.aol.com, www.coolsavings.com, and netscape.com

Build ID: 2001 11 27 03. Windows 2000. WFM. Mac problem only?

I see this when I go so such a site with a _maximized_ browser window (build 2001112608 on macos 8.6). Sympomatically, it looks like a regression of 98701, but I wonder if it isn't related to bug 112076, where popups are picking up aspects of the browser window that they shouldn't. Btw, on mac especially, it is easy to resize a maximized window so that it doesn't _look_ maximized despite it still being marked as such. Reporter, try clicking _once_ on the zoom box and going to a site with a popup. Does this fix the problem?

I believe that this is only a mac problem occuring in 8.6, 9.0.4, and X, but not in OS 9.1. The window is not taking on the same size of the browser window. It seems to becoming in at a 100%, instead of a 25% that it should normal do. Zoom feature on the mac has no affect on the window.

Oops, please ignore the reference to 112076. I got the number wrong, and, after a closer look, I don't think the bug I had in mind was related after all.

Same problem with Build 2002020405 MAc OS 9.1

I can't reproduce this bug, and I'm using the same build as Stephan (2002020405), however I'm using Mac OS 9.2.2, and windows pop up as they are supposed to at the right size. Could this be Mac OS version dependant?

I can't reproduce this right now because, well, window maximizing is seriously horked. See bug 125711. But with that bug fixed (at time of writing is hasn't been, but there's a patch in the bug) this bug can't be missed. The above patch plus 125711 will take this bug down.

This tiny patch became part of the checkin for bug 125711.
