User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:34.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/34.0
Build ID: 20141126041045
Steps to reproduce:
For the last few weeks, perhaps since release of 31.0 (version is currently 31.4.0 and just updated today), recipient auto-fill in the message composition window does not behave as previously. There is a distinct delay in the auto-fill feature.
----
As an aside, I have used Thunderbird since it was Netscape Communicator and have not had this be an issue. In order to get auto-fill to respond, I must wait a second after I stop typing to allow the auto-fill list to produce, then I can tab through (or choose from the list) to the next field. This may be related to bug report #1118086, but I can't readily decipher the techno-speak.
Actual results:
When typing a recipient name, such as "Jason," and following this with an immediate TAB to the next field, the program leaves the name "Jason" in the recipient field without auto-completing with the best match.
Expected results:
The program *should have* auto-filled the name with the best match as I tabbed into the next (or even several further down) fields. For example, "Jason" becomes "Jason LastName <name@address.ext>."
