Per discussing offline, the main reason you want someone to help here is this test case may block enabling emulator kk on tryserver, in order to avoid that, we will temporarily disable this test case on emulator kk and will come back to check this bug in a priority order.

This appears to have a pretty clear regression range and is now on Aurora (along with bug 1313258). Can we please get this on someone's radar to investigate?

Paul - most likely in a quick look at the range given is bug 1311346 -- a cubeb import, including: - Slightly change the device name on OSX, to use the data source and not the device name (so that it's more explicit when using the built-in mic or 3.5mm TRRS plug) - Implement auto-swich for OSX and fix it for WASAPI. Those are temporary, we'll implement that properly soon I think all the failures (in this bug, didn't check bug 1312300) are Mac

Paul, Alex -- This isn't a high frequency intermittent, but it got worse around the time the cubeb import landed (bug 1311346). Alex -- Can I ask you to look into what changed (with guidance from Paul)?

There is a apple specific bug which creates a deadlock when the notification thread is executed in parallel with stream init. That makes this test fail. I am working on how to prevent it from cubeb level. There is an open bug about it. I will DUP this to the other one since it contains more info about the deadlock.
