User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:37.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/37.0
Build ID: 20150121004011
Steps to reproduce:
1. Went to Facebook.com while developing to get the "Facebook blue" color code
2. Open inspector, activate eyedropper
3. Click and drag in the blue top bar in Facebook
Actual results:
=> Pointed pixel returns Black 0,0,0
=> Mouse cursor disappears
=> User starts frantically pressing Escape and clicking everywhere
=> User loses sanity and starts making weird noises and sudden movements in the office environment
=> Surrounding colleagues think user is weird
=> Browser freezes and crashes
Expected results:
=> Cursor remains clearly visible after eyedropper select
=> Selected pixel returns a beautiful blue-ish hue
=> Pressing Esc returns environment to a neutral state
=> User conserves sanity and is happy with Firefox DevTools
=> Colleagues highly esteem user for their great calm
=> Browser remains usable for browsing and development

Tried this on:
Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.11; rv:44.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/44.0
I tried for a good 10+ minutes to try and reproduce this bug. A couple moments after clicking and dragging my mouse goes back to normal (like expected). Are you still experiencing this issue?

ni? for Comment 1. Also by the way - did you activate the eyedropper from the color picker popup or from the button on the toolbar?

I did not have an issue when I tried with both the eyedropper from the toolbar and the eyedropper from the color picker popup on both the current version of Firefox and the current version of Firefox nightly.
Steps tried:
1. Went to Facebook.com to get the "Facebook blue" color code
2. Opened inspector, activated eyedropper. Also tried using the eyedropper from the toolbar
3. Click and drag in the blue top bar in Facebook
Results:
No issues detected

Thanks for trying to confirm. I also cannot reproduce anymore after an STR. For the record, at the time I was using the eyedropper from the toolbar button. This was maybe fixed in a refactor somewhere. Closing for now.
