I would be nice if office files could be viewed directly in Firefox without downloading them on computer.
Not likely to get implemented in Firefox directly (as opposed to an extension), but surprisingly I didn't find this already filed. There's bug 114376 for OpenOffice.org files, but I take it you're talking about MS Office.

Summary: Open office documents in Firefox → Open/display MS Office documents in Firefox (ECMA-376: Office Open XML, xlsx, docx, pptx)
Version: 35 Branch → Trunk
Downloading an office open XLM documents automatically adds the .xslx extension to the file name which then fails to open in Microsoft Excel. Brand new Firefox Quantum 62.0.2 (64-bit)
