Build ID: 20150122214805
Steps to reproduce:
31.4.0
Duplicated under both Windows 7 and Scientific Linux 6.6.
If you click on a message in "Drafts", such that it is readable in the lower right pane, then press the letter "a" without the quotes on your keyboard, it will delete the letter from drafts.

Certainly. "A" is a shortcut for archive. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/kb/keyboard-shortcuts
It doesn't care what folder you are in. So this is working as designed.
