I only noticed this in yesterday's build (20011129xx), but haven't checked backwards to see when it started. The font size lists in Prefs (Appearance->Fonts) only show the sizes 8 and 9, and all other sizes are shown as "...". I'm guessing this is a dupe, but I can't seem to find a match for it.
Did you select "Western" in the "Fonts for: dropdown atop the panel? Can you check if you are seeing the same symptoms reported in: <http://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=108939>. I don't see the problem where only font size 8 and 9 are listed in today's 2001-11-30-09-trunk Win2K mozilla build. Can you attach a screenshot so I know I am interpreting the problem right? Thanks.
sounds like a dupe. *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 108939 ***

Sairuh, it doesn't sound like bug 108939 to me, because I didn't make any changes in Fonts at all. I simply saw the problem in the droplist, for which I'm attaching a screenshot.
reopening. whoa, that is weird...

Menupopup widget bug? Looks like the menupopup only has room for one char. Reporter, are you seeing this in other menupopups as well elsewhere in the product? Sending over to menus folks for a look.

For reference the XUL for this pref pane lives at: <http://lxr.mozilla.org/seamonkey/source/xpfe/components/prefwindow/resources/content/pref-fonts.xul> and the menulist in question has an id="sizeVar".
Sairuh, I'm only seeing it in the font size lists. I just checked the "Fonts for" droplist, the various lists for choosing the font family, the font DPI list, the "Default character coding" list under Languages, "Default search engine" list under Internet search, etc. I'll try a new profile real quick to see if that fixes it, just to be sure.
Okay, on a new profile, I don't see the problem in Classic theme, but I DO see it when I switch to Modern.
This may have been exposed by recent changes in the modern skin, but there was something not quite right with the XUL for that panel. Or at least, one should always be leary of hard coded, magic sizes in the xul markup. Maybe it is a defect in the grid and/or menulist code that it doesn't arbitrate the competing constraints implied in this case, but at any rate, we can fix this with a one line change (attached).
-> Preferences (unless you want to see this live in hyatt's 1.1 land of the undead bugs :-).

CCing Eric Vaughan in case he can throw some light on the grid behaviour.
