User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.10; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build ID: 20150122214805 Steps to reproduce: After updating to Thunderbird 31.x from v17.x, this problem keeps coming back all the time: Typing suddenly becomes extremely slow when composing email message. That is there's long delay between typing and displaying the text. Sometimes, closing message and opening it again from Drafts solves the issue. Sometimes it goes away itself. But then the problem comes back after some time. I'm using the latest v31.4.0 Actual results: Typed text displayed after long delay. Expected results: Typed text should be displayed instantly.
Hi Leo. Have you tested Thunderbird in safe mode? Go to Help | Restart and when it starts allow it to run with addons disabled. Please post your results

Hi Wayne, Thank you for your reply. But this issue is just too inconsistent to test it this way. In fact, it didn't occur for a few weeks by now - and hopefully never will. I also updated to 31.5 so maybe it made a difference. I'll keep you updated something changes.

THanks for the update. If the problem should reappear in the next few weeks then please try the beta (which soon will be version 38) from http://www.mozilla.org/en-US/thunderbird/channel/
