User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build ID: 20150122214805 Steps to reproduce: name grates on me. Thunderbird is NOT a nice bird. it attacks people, has nasty teeth, and it's big and has leather wings. Indians were afraid of it. Actual results: nothing Expected results: please change Thunderbird to SparrowMail or SwanMail or DoveMail (not sure if that should be done?)
please make these changesa to the code, the GUI controls, windows, dialogs, etc, and documentation and web site. a few case-sensitive global word search and replaces should do the job.
Thunderbird is a well known name with a long history. Changing the name would mean that you have to change thousand lines of code, changing icons and change websites. Who should do that work, you ? And who should pay for registering new domain names and for the legal check if the new name is usable is several countries ? Dovemail would for example already conflict with the Dovecot Email server. And that all because you do not like the name ? I like the name for example. Anyway, this is a wontfix as bug and bugzilla is not the right place to discuss something like this.
