User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Macintosh; Intel Mac OS X 10.6; rv:35.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/35.0 Build ID: 20150122214805 Steps to reproduce: Type a few chars into a recipient field when composing a message and immediately hit Return to go the next field so you can type on a new address Actual results: The chars you typed do not autocomplete to an address in you address book, unless you wait a second or two before hitting Return. Expected results: The autocomplete should be faster or should still occur after you have hit Return. It used to work fine. A couple of months ago, it started to have this problem. So now I type a bunch of nicknames or initial strings of addresses, hitting Return after each one, and then I go back and fix the ones that failed to autocomplete. To fix each one, I click on the field, delete the last char, re-type the last char, and wait for it to autocomplete. Thanks for your help in supporting Thunderbird -- the best email client I've ever used! --Fred Stluka

I agree. This was a duplicate. Sorry I didn't find bug 1012397 before I submitted it. BTW, I REALLY like the way you guys (or bugzilla automatically?) add me to the CC list of the other ticket when you resolve mine as a duplicate. So I stay informed as the other ticket progresses. Excellent user support!! I wish JIRA did that automatically for the users of my software projects. Thanks! --Fred
