It seems that with the addition of the "Refresh Firefox" button on this page: support.mozilla.org/en-US/products/firefox It seems we lost the convenient link to whats new in the release. People used this link. See: https://twitter.com/raymondcamden/status/570331888553820161
Big plus one for this. I understand the link exists in the new tab opened when the browser refreshes, but today I closed that immediately as I planned to check out the changes later.
Yeah. If you are on the the latest version, you know see a Refresh Firefox button because you are already on the latest version. Sounds like we need to add a link to http://www.mozilla.org/firefox/notes from somewhere on the page. It probably would be confusing to be under the Refresh Firefox button though.
A few notes: * The refresh button should only be displayed to users with the same exact version of Firefox that they would be downloading. This is by design. It inserts the repair feature into a common repair flow (that otherwise wouldn't repair Firefox). There is a bug on this site that shows the button to more people than it should (Bug 1125859). * We have a support article for this - https://support.mozilla.org/kb/firefox-release-notes-whats-new-and-known-issues You can find it under Firefox product > Download, install and migration * A search for "what's new" on the support site or a google search for "what's new firefox" quickly finds the release notes. * If you go to mozilla.org/firefox/new in another browser you get a what's new link but if you visit with Firefox you won't get a download button or the what's new link. This feels like an IA issue. Let's ask Joni if/how this could be addressed.

Typing 'whats new firefox' in my search box gives me the release notes for Firefox 3.6 as the top result. This is with our default search provider. The user in question also claimed to have trouble finding it with search engines. It seems to be not very discoverable for users currently. Anything we can do to improve that would probably be appreciated. Thanks!
Thanks for reporting this, Ben. We'll look into options of making this more discoverable. We're doing some IA work this quarter so I'll add this as a user story.
