Hi Ben-
Could we please have a separate confirmation message that doesn't refer to Firefox & You or the word newsletter for folks signing up for iOS notifications?

Thx,

on it. Do we have a particular style we use for Firefox iOS?

Thanks and no, not yet. Just be as generic and Firefoxy as possible.

I have launched 18 versions of this message (an HTML and TXT only version for all 9 supported languages).
So far everything is working just fine. Still testing.

Hey Ben-
Just noticed that the word "newsletter" is still in the confirmation email and the confirmation page after the person clicks the the confirmation email.
Am I being overly sensitive to about this? The iOS stuff really isn't a newsletter and I don't want to scare folks off.
Is it an L10N thing?
Thx,
Jen

Jen,
Not sure about the email contents, but I know the confirmation page on the bedrock side can't be easily fixed unless we remove "newsletter" from the page for everything. That page is for confirmation of subscriptions for everything, and the page has no way of knowing to what you've subscribed. The only way I know of to avoid all of this actually is to not require double-opt-in for this thing.

I left it at newsletter to avoid having to get all these messages re-translated.
It's not ideal, but it's the difference between collecting signups now or in a week or two as far as email is concerned.

Thanks, Pmac and Ben.
Let's leave it for now and re-assess when the larger iOS acquisition campaign starts.
