Those who see this bug (fonts appearing too low in Java forms): Can you please add information about: -Full version of JRE -Whether you still see the bug in the latest builds -Whether you use xfs or only X to render fonts under Linux
I am using XFree 4.2.0 With Debian Woody.I am using XFS server. I have this Error since 1 year. Since SuSE Linux 7.1(Xfree 4.0.3 + XFS). Java version 1.31_02 but i see this bug since also since Javaversion 1.30... What kommically is , is the fact, that at school( they have Debian pottato and very old pC's[Pentiums 233]) everything looks allright. THerefore i think that it can depend on XFree86 config. But what comically is, when i try it at home, i saw this Java-table-draw error on each distribution i have tryed( Mandrake 8.1 amd 8.2, RedHat 7.2 , Debian Potao, Debian Woody, SuSE 7.1, SuSE 7.2) whith default prefferences. Hmm......
I am seeing this too ... but more importantly, doesn't this bug belong to java and not mozilla?
No! At school everything looks allright! And I don't have any such problems with java-plugin sleon|tuX
I mean at scholl we have Debian Potato. And mozilla 9.5.... And the same Java-Homebanking page looks fine!!! This is the problem!!! :)
I understand that, but I don't think the browser doesn't have any work with displaying fonts or widgets inside the applet. It's up to the Java plugin to do it through the OS, no?
Should say: I understand that, but I don't think the browser has anything to do with displaying fonts or widgets inside the applet. It's up to the Java plugin to do it through the OS, no? (Bugzilla really needs an Edit comment option ... )
Java use it's own internal fonts and font-descriptions at times, and there are different nationalized versions. It would be interesting to know if it it the exact same version of Java that is installed at reporter's own computer as on his school computer(s)
I am using Java(TM) Plug-in 1.3.0_01 at school and at home
md5sum jre.xpi c97510a855a80e3cd2ff91e440d47ca2 jre.xpi at school and home are the same.
The last j2sdk 1.4 java sun plugin have solved my problem!!!(Java(TM) Plug-in 1.4.0-b92)
I guess I was right. It wasn't a mozilla problem after all. Marking INVALID then

The culprit here and in similar bugs may be a local misconfiguration of Java; it needs a fontpath set. See bug 139687
