Two homescreen apps in Gaia makes things confusing

There are two apps in Gaia that are the homescreen - apps/homescreen and apps/verticalhome. AIUI verticalhome is the new hotness that is the default and apps/homescreen is the old thing that has been retired. And yet if you go to settings -> App Permissions -> Homescreen you see the entry for apps/homescreen (note the author URL which has andreasgal/ in it, making it look like a spoof of some sort to the unwitting user). Also WebIDE will list two homescreen apps when you enable debugging of certified apps, which sometimes can be confusing.
Can we ditch the old homescreen app? Or at least rename it to something less confusing?

I think this only happens for engineering builds. I do think it's time we get rid of the old home screen.

Mass update: Resolve wontfix all issues with legacy homescreens.
As of 2.6 we have a new homescreen and having these issues open is confusing. All issues will block bug 1231115 so we can use that to re-visit any of these if needed.
