There should be bookmark sections that can be loaded unloaded independantly from
each other in Bookmark manager. For instance, you could have 4 sections:

Sports
Trivia
Politics
Goats

They would be held separate in the bookmark file, and each section would be
shown separately in the Bookmarks folder. A section could be saved or unloaded
to a file, and later loaded again out of a file. It can also be disabled meaning
it would appear greyed in the Bookmarks manager, but would not appear in a
bookmarks menu.

you could use <div class="section"> or something in the bookmarks file to do this.

This feature is marked "obsolete" but is STILL VERY relevant to Mozilla, both Firefox, as bookmarks, and history, and to Thunderbird, as email folders, addressbooks and lists, as well as email threads.

It enables the ability to import/export or save, chunks of entities, and allows a level of organization such that it would have a DRIECT impact on performance. ( Have you ever tried to delete a small portion of the huge bookmark, or History files, like molassess).

This capability would be very important in a multi-user and group setting, to allow transfer of both organization (empty folders), as well as joint efforts at making and merging heirarchical entities.

The overall Foxfire/Tbird code could benefit from a more object/class oriented implementaition which would be used across all uses.

Ability for managing parts of the bookmarks tree tracked in Bug 13013, idea about separate bookmarks.html files in now obsolete because of storing bookmarks in sqlite database, so I'm closing this bug.
