User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; WOW64; rv:36.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/36.0 Build ID: 20150320202338 Steps to reproduce: I opened Menu > Settings Actual results: The tab "General" was empty. When I switched to another tab and back again to "General" it stayed at the previously selected. It only got "fixed" after killing "firefox.exe" and open, close and open the settings again. I asked some other guys on the teamspeak which are using Firefox and it happend the same. They're also using Windows 7. Expected results: The thab should have settings visible. I couldn't change where firefox should save the downloads and other stuff.
[bugday-20150330] This seems to be a duplicate of Bug 1147349. Curiously the reporter of that bug has ATI graphics. I have NVIDIA graphics and I can't reproduce this bug. Stefan, is your graphics card NVIDIA or AMD/ATI? Can you ask your friends on teamspeak the same question please? Also try restarting Firefox with add-ons disabled (in Help Menu).

I've been plagued by this for several weeks now. It occurred immediately after updating to 37.0.1 (as in press 'Restart now' ... wait ... go Options > General > [blank panel]). Killing the .exe doesn't "fix" the behavior but sometimes, if I close and re-open the Options dialog enough times, the General tab will be temporarily displayed. My display adapter is `Intel(R) G33/G31 Express Chipset Family'. This has been positively recorded as occurring on my Win7 Enterprise x86 box at work; I'm pretty certain (but currently lack screenshots to prove) this happens on my Xubuntu 14.04 x86 box at home too.

Sorry for my late answer. Was in another country and hadn't internet. I'm using a nVidia GTX670 with the Driver 347.25. My friend, where the problem also appeared is also using a nVidia but a GTX980.

Do you guys have Ghostery? It seems to cause this bug. As a workaround disable Ghostery or access Firefox settings by typing about:preferences in address bar. See https://support.mozilla.org/en-US/questions/1034163.

Yup! It's Ghostery alright, in my case at least. <grumble/> Thank you kenkon. I never would have found that with my search terms.
yeah, I'm using Ghostery. I could reproduce the problem on Firefox 37.0.1 on OSX with Ghostery installed. After deactivating it and restarting the browser, the tab showed up again. Ghostery activated, restarted again and the tab was empty again. On my Windows, there it works sometimes with Ghostery activated. So, seems to be a problem for the devs of Ghostery? For me, the "about:preferences" seems to be a good alternative. Didn't knew that. Thank you.
