It would be nice if Mozilla was friendlier with Opera and it could import (and possibly even export) Opera bookmarks. Another interesting thing would be a possibility to read Opera bookmarks straight away by having a folder "Opera Bookmarks".

I see a lot requests in russian forums about this feature.
Ulf Erikson has worked on a plugin that *imports* (not exports) Opera's hotlists into K-Meleon (the native Gecko based Win32 browser. Source and the binary for the plugin can be found at http://kmeleon.freewebsites.com/hotlist.html. If you want to play around with the plugin, you will need the latest version, which is at http://kmeleon.sourceforge.net or do a search for "kmeleon07.exe" at filemirrors.com. Since this all was built on Win32, some porting might be needed for it to work on everything else. I have attached a copy of the binary and source of the plugin to this if anyone wants to tackle it.
This is an important bug to fix for Opera users to consider switching to Mozilla. Nominating as cat food and for next Netscape release.

I found these instructions to import Opera bookmarks as a workaround: 1. Go to http://www.operacer.com/bookmark.html and download and install Bookmark Priest. 2. Run BP, indicating that you want to convert Opera bookmarks to Netscape bookmarks. 3. Click on the Opera button and indicate you want to convert the bookmarks in opera6.adr. If you still have Opera 6, the file will be in the Opera folder. If you imported your Opera 6.05 bookmarks to Opera 7, you will probably find this file in C:\Windows\Application Data\Opera or even C:\Windows\Profiles\<profile>\Application Data\Opera\OPERA7\profile 4. Click on Netscape to indicate you want to convert the Opera bookmarks to Netscape. 5. Click Go. You will get a notice that bookmarks have been converted. 6. The converted bookmarks will be in the "output" file of bpriest. They will be marked with the Opera "O" and be identified as output.html 7. Open Mazilla>manage bookmarks>import. Find the output.html file in bpriest's output file, and indicate you want to import the output.html file 8. Exit and restart Mozilla. The Opera bookmarks should now be imported into Mozilla.
There are also reports that programs available at http://www.Manfred-Dahlhoff.de/JetLinks and http://www.magnusbrading.com/bmc/ can help import Opera bookmarks into Mozilla.

Firebird version 0.7 fails to import Opera 7.23 bookmarks that are exported to a html file. When trying to import nothing happens after the select dialoge to import the file.

MASS-CHANGE: This bug report is registered in the SeaMonkey product, but has been without a comment since the inception of the SeaMonkey project. This means that it was logged against the old Mozilla suite and we cannot determine that it's still valid for the current SeaMonkey suite. Because of this, we are setting it to an UNCONFIRMED state. If you can confirm that this report still applies to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it back to the NEW state along with a comment on how you reproduced it on what Build ID, or if it's an enhancement request, why it's still worth implementing and in what way. If you can confirm that the report doesn't apply to current SeaMonkey 2.x nightly builds, please set it to the appropriate RESOLVED state (WORKSFORME, INVALID, WONTFIX, or similar). If no action happens within the next few months, we move this bug report to an EXPIRED state. Query tag for this change: mass-UNCONFIRM-20090614
