Details

User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows NT 6.1; rv:25.3) Gecko/20150323 Firefox/31.9 PaleMoon/25.3.1 Build ID: 20150323170640 Steps to reproduce: Click on an RSS feed, observe there are 10 unread messages Manually mark one message read Press "Shift-C" to mark the other messages read Actual results: After some amount of time (hard to tell how much exactly since generally it won't actually show anything until you do a "get messages" or click on the feed again), the messages that were marked read by the "Shift-C" are now unread again. The message that was manually marked read properly stays read. Expected results: All messages stay marked read.
Please see the message source (using Ctrl-U) of the messages marked and see the "X-Mozilla-Status:" line in the source. Is there any difference in the value when you mark a single message read and if you Mark All messages?
Manually marked: X-Mozilla-Status: 00x1 (x seems to vary by message/folder) Mark All: X-Mozilla-Status: 0000 Going to a specific message after a "mark all" doesn't change the status; explicitly toggling it back to unread then read does.
OK, after you use "Mark all read", you see messages have X-Mozilla-Status: 0000. Can you mark one of the messages with a Star (Flag) and then check the X-Mozilla-Status again? Then you can remove the Star.
After starring: X-Mozilla-Status: 0005 Unstarring again: X-Mozilla-Status: 0001
One more data point. Selecting all messages with Ctrl-A, then picking "mark->as read" from the context menu does result in an xxx1 status.
Thanks, then it looks quite like bug 840418. Can you confirm?
Yup reading the comments on that bug it sure sounds like it. That bug is marked fixed with a target milestone of tb 38. Does that mean it will be in whatever the next release is, or won't it be included until version 38 ? Is there a nightly release I could check to verify the fix?
