In response to an old PR, the menus containing lists of folders have been sorted by folder name for many moons now. As of this nightly, that's busted: the folders are listed in some wierd order - perhaps the order in which they occur in the parent directory.
David, please use Bugzilla Helper http://www.mozilla.org/quality/help/bug-form.html for your bug reports. It took me a while for understanding the purpose of this bug (ambiguity, no steps for reproducing). And build ID is missing (word "nightly" in summary is useless, most of the time we test nightlies). *** This bug has been marked as a duplicate of 56855 ***

Sorry, I thought it was pretty obvious! I shouldn't do that - I've written enought test plans. As of NIGHTLY *2001-12-14-03* this bug has resurfaced! What was sorted in my previous installation (about 12-02) is now NOT sorted. In any mail window, select a message; Select MENU.Message->Move OR Taskbar.File OR RIghtmouse.Move to see list of folders, move down the folder tree until 3 or more folders are listed. EXPECTED: Menu is presented sorted alphabetic by name, OBSERVED: Menu is NOT sorted in any meaningful order.

Question is: is bug 112301 behaviour what you're seeing? If yes, this bug is a duplicate.
[Re: Demitrios comments 2001-12-17 13:11] Well, I wouldn't describe it that way. If both lists were the same, and were ordered like the current drop-downs, I would regard this as an issue. They were that way once, IIRC, and it made Mozilla very difficult to work with. For me, the issue is not that they are the same or not; but that they be specifically sorted by name because that takes about 1/4 the time to locate the one I need to pick. Otherwise, yes they are the same failure and the question is how it was once fixed but now has regressed.
Reporter: Are you still seeing this bug in recent builds?
No, Now it looks good.
