Ben, the culprit here could also be bug 1146729.

It should be easy enough to test if it was bug 1146729, as that's just a preference change; switching media.fragmented-mp4.exposed to false and media.fragmented-mp4.gonk.enabled to false should effectively back out that bug. Can somebody quickly test that?
I set both prefs to false and after reboot I can play videos on youtube. This issue is verified fixed on the latest Flame 3.0 Build. YouTube video is played properly, and video controls work correctly.
