User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Linux i686) AppleWebKit/535.11 (KHTML, like Gecko) Chrome/17.0.963.65 Safari/535.11 Steps to reproduce: 1. Type in terminal: firefox -safe-mode 2. Open tabs and browse URLs 3. Open GMail (https://mail.google.com) Actual results: After login to GMail (step # 3 above), the list of emails were shown. But shortly afterwards, Firefox crashed. Following messages were displayed in the terminal. firefox -safe-mode ** (firefox:16029): CRITICAL **: gst_app_src_set_size: assertion `GST_IS_APP_SRC (appsrc)' failed (firefox:16029): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.24.1/gobject/gsignal.c:2273: signal `autoplug-sort' is invalid for instance `0x9f687740' (firefox:16029): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.24.1/gobject/gsignal.c:2273: signal `autoplug-sort' is invalid for instance `0x9f687740' ** (firefox:16029): CRITICAL **: gst_app_src_set_size: assertion `GST_IS_APP_SRC (appsrc)' failed (firefox:16029): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.24.1/gobject/gsignal.c:2273: signal `autoplug-sort' is invalid for instance `0x92bba140' (firefox:16029): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.24.1/gobject/gsignal.c:2273: signal `autoplug-sort' is invalid for instance `0x92bba140' ** (firefox:16029): CRITICAL **: gst_app_src_set_size: assertion `GST_IS_APP_SRC (appsrc)' failed (firefox:16029): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.24.1/gobject/gsignal.c:2273: signal `autoplug-sort' is invalid for instance `0x92bba640' (firefox:16029): GLib-GObject-WARNING **: /build/buildd/glib2.0-2.24.1/gobject/gsignal.c:2273: signal `autoplug-sort' is invalid for instance `0x92bba640' (firefox:16029): GStreamer-CRITICAL **: gst_plugin_feature_get_name: assertion `GST_IS_PLUGIN_FEATURE (feature)' failed Expected results: Firefox should not have crashed. I'm not sure if opening GMail is the issue. However, I tried using Firefox several times, and apparently it crashed only after I opened GMail.

The following is one of the crash reports submitted while in the safe mode: https://crash-stats.mozilla.com/report/index/1266d12d-0993-4b04-911f-5d98b2150518 I have also tried creating a different profile, but still having the same behavior.
Could you add a few crash report links, please.

According to the crash signatures, I'd say your issue is a dupe of bug 1164103. To crash the browser, do you browse a video webpage?

I did not browse any video webpage. As I mentioned earlier, the crash seems to occur sometime after I launch GMail in the browser. Again, I'm not claiming that is the root cause, but just something I doubted. Also, I do not have any webcam with that system, if that matters anyhow.
